Students of Tajikistan must pay $ 3 million to gosudarstvo textbook rental. The Minister of education of Tajikistan stated that the debt for many school years has increased to three million dollars, and his need to repay the parents of the pupils. As approved by the Minister of education of Tajikistan, textbooks are rented to students for a period of three years and the parents have to pay annually for 33-34% of their value. The money raised for the rent going to increase teachers ' salaries, offices and equipment and maintenance of libraries in schools. After three years of renting textbooks, students are required to take them to the school library. Since the textbooks become the property of the school.
Associate publisher of textbooks said that this huge debt going for fifteen years, and now MO of Tajikistan has difficulties in the production of new textbooks due to the lack of funding.
For the payment of this debt the parents and children gather nuts, wild rose and waste paper, and the money collected given to Bank for repayment of debts.
Now the Minister of Education of Kyrgyzstan offers to pay the parents of students to 20 kgs per year for the rental of textbooks, in order to be able to replace outdated textbooks for a new one.
