Important changes have taken place in Kazakhstan in the field of education
In February 2025, important changes took place in Kazakhstan in the field of education. The Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, announced the opening of 11 branches of foreign universities this year, including Cardiff University, the University of Exeter, the University of Glasgow and the Korean Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). These world-leading universities will start their activities in Kazakhstan in order to improve the quality of higher education and attract students from abroad.
Additionally, as part of the Comfort School initiative, 257 new schools were commissioned in the country by the beginning of 2025, providing 373,000 additional student places. This made it possible to eliminate three-shift training in 42 schools, solve the problem of accidents in 20 educational institutions and eliminate the shortage of places in 148 settlements. More than 40% of these schools are located in rural areas, which improves access to quality education for rural residents.
