Kazakh universities represented only two of the five subject areas of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019.

Company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) published the results of the annual QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019.

Kazakh universities do not occupy high positions in the ranking. Kazakh national University named after al-Farabi in the 'Arts and Humanities' is a 339-e a place (in 2018 – 301-e a place), under 'Social Sciences and management' – 364-e a place. One of the best results in University ranking for individual subjects – under 'Modern languages', where he was in the first hundred (divided places from 51 th to 100 th). In 2018, the result of the University in this subject category were below (designated with 101 to 150).
