West Kazakhstan state medical University named after Marat Ospanov
West Kazakhstan state medical University was opened in 1957, by order of the Minister of higher education of the USSR in Aktobe. The first specialty for which trained students were 'Medical care'. The University's first rector was the candidate of medical Sciences. The open University has become useful not only to Aktobe region, but also for the whole Kazakhstan. The University initiated the development of medical science in the regional center. Active participation in the development were adopted in other medical schools of the Soviet Union – were involved the universities of Leningrad and Perm region.
In a short time organized a training process, the first set of students, and starts a new life of higher education institution in Aktobe land. In mid-October 1957 at the medical school was opened seven departments. 'The theater begins with a hanger', and Acgme began with hall. On the first day of school at 8 a.m. can be seen in the lobby of the Dean greets students at the entrance and making comments about the unpolished shoes, sloppy appearance and require to remove headgear in the room. This went on for several days in a row, while the students did not understand that any mistake will be noticed. The rules of ethics instilled in all teachers.
Of the first teachers in our day, the University continues to work honorary Professor Alina Gizatullina Musayevna.
In the organization of departments actively involving all teachers, technical staff and students of the University. Traditional summer labor semesters in villages of Aktobe region: the students helped to build economic facilities, read the first lecture to the villagers, provided all possible medical assistance, performed numbers of Amateur.
Demonstrations, work days, trips to agricultural work and other activities turned into a festive event that brings together students and teachers in a team.
The atmosphere of those days are well passed the memories of a student of the first edition, now MD, Professor, head. the Department of internal diseases Kazmi A. K. Zhangabylov: 'a Small motley crowd. Were dressed not rich, did not look aristocrats. New medical Institute opened for us the path to student life, future profession, practice and science. And we started with the reconstruction of the building of the pedagogical Institute. After class, nailed, beat, broken, restored... Adapted the premises to the conditions of the medical Institute. Spent the night in anatomt. We had our own 'Vesalius' - student of the S. Rusmanov. He knew Latin if not the entire textbook, then half for sure!...'.
The structure of Acgme at the beginning of the 1957/58 school year looked very simple and was provided with the following units:
Rector A. B. Dairov from 1957 to 1963 concurrently headed the Department of General surgery, uniting excellent specialists. During this organizational period in Acgme created 33 departments, 17 clinical areas.
The first Dean was appointed candidate of medical Sciences, associate Professor Aleksey Pavlovich Sorokin. He organized one of the fundamental departments of normal anatomy and the best among the medical universities of Kazakhstan anatomical Museum. Subsequently he defended his doctoral dissertation and received the title of Professor.
In 60-e years of ASMI is filled with new teachers: doctor of medical Sciences Professor M. S. Shabanov, candidate of medical Sciences V. M. Sennikova, V. G. Ovsyannikov, A. I. Corvaton, V. I. Senacki, P. M. Kozaczynski, I. A. Bogdanovym, JI.H. Farafonova, the Starodubova A. T., etc.
In 1963, the first graduates 157 doctors of therapeutic profile, which was carried out by the rector of N. D. Rostopchin (1963-1966 gg.), head. the Department JIOP diseases. When it organized a Department of urology, the new district of the city began the construction of morphological building.
The development of neurosurgical service in Aktobe region was based on the close relationship between members of the Department of neurosurgery SCHMO them Marat Ospanov (Aktobe medical Institute) and emergency hospital (regional hospital). The founder is Professor MD, Biryukov Yu. V. Simultaneously with the creation of the Department in 1971 was opened the Department of neurosurgery regional hospital.
With the development of technology at this time under the leadership of the Department in the neurosurgical Department of Aktobe performs all types of complex operations on the Central nervous system, developed highly specialized techniques in the treatment of hemorrhagic stroke with the use of local thrombolysis and clipping, endovascular interventions for aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations. Microsurgery on stem structures in tumors, stabilizing operations the installation of the cages, pedicle fixation, vertebroplasty. All employees of the Department and the Department passed specialization in the leading neurosurgical centers in the country, and abroad: Astana, Almaty, Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Kazan, Novokuznetsk, Kiev, Essen, Düsseldorf, Seoul, Jerusalem, Lisbon, Dublin.
Since 2010 the city has 3 neurosurgery Department, which are also educational bases of the Department: head Department of the emergency hospital of 60 beds, AOB at 15 CST beds and 20 beds. Prioritetnye the main directions of neuro-surgical service g Aktobe is neuro Oncology, vascular pathology of the Central nervous system, neuro-degenerative diseases, the development of minimally invasive techniques, functional neurosurgery in epilepsy and pathology of the peripheral nerves.
Anatomical Museum at the Department of normal anatomy has been functioning since 1960. During this time, the Museum became known not only in the University and in Kazakhstan, but also in countries Near and Far abroad. Our University is regularly visited by official delegations, pupils, students and every their visit is necessarily accompanied by the tour of the Museum.
History of the Museum began in one of the Cathedral of meetings, 1957, when the decision was made on its establishment. At the same time and a plan of work, each employee of the Department actively participated in the organization of the Museum: Assoc. V. V. Morozov, assistants — M. S. Bashirov, T. K. Zhdanov, A. M., Gizatullina, G. F. Lashina, M. P. Obraztsov, I. S. Zimnik. To create a Museum, guided only by the work plan, it is impossible; there is important enthusiasm, inexhaustible energy and creativity of the organizers. No less important, and maybe even the main one, is the presence of the inspirer, a man able to inspire the team with your own ideas. This was the first head of the Department of normal anatomy Professor Aleksei Pavlovich Sorokin. Any suggestion on the design of the Museum was discussed with the whole Department, and then the best ideas were implemented.
