August 19, 1963-resolution of the Bureau of the Ural rural regional Committee of the CP of Kazakhstan and the Executive Committee of the Ural regional Council of workers ' deputies "on issues related to the organization of the West Kazakhstan agricultural Institute in Uralsk".
May 7, 1996-West Kazakhstan agricultural Institute was reorganized into West Kazakhstan agricultural University.
February 14, 2000-wkatu became a part of West Kazakhstan state University.
November 2002-left the wksu and was reorganized into the West Kazakhstan agrarian and technical University.
May 30, 2003-named after the Kazakh politician and statesman of the XIX century Zhangir-Kerey Khan.[1]
West Kazakhstan agricultural and technical University named after Zhangir Khan is a multidisciplinary higher education institution in the West Kazakhstan region. The University has 6 faculties, 25 departments with 36 specialties, post-graduate, master's and others.
