S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar state University (PSU) is one of the largest universities in Kazakhstan. PSU is the center of education, science and culture not only in the Pavlodar region, but also in the Republic. Pavlodar state University.S. toraigyrova was established in may 1996 on the basis of the Industrial Institute, established in 1960 on the basis of the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of September 20, 1960.

The Institute was located in two barracks and 10 one-story barracks of the former 24th military school. There were 400 students in three faculties - mechanical engineering, civil engineering and power engineering. Classes were taught by 16 teachers, of whom only one had the academic title of associate Professor. Pavlodar state University named after Sultanmakhmut Toraighyrov is a higher educational institution with a great and glorious biography: for more than half a century, this University has been training highly professional personnel for the whole country.
